Evolution of Guardian: looking back and lessons learned

In the high-risk world of road transport, driver safety is more critical than ever, and the industry is seeing a rapidly growing uptake of driver fatigue and distraction detection technology. Seeing Machines has been at the forefront of this with the evolution of our Guardian product.
In 2008, we introduced the first iteration of Guardian with our Driver State Sensor (DSS) for the off-road/mining sector (pictured above). In 2015, we launched Guardian Generation 1 for on-road heavy vehicle fleets. Fast-forward to 2024 and our driver fatigue and distraction solution for fleets, Guardian, has now travelled more than 17 billion kilometres and protects over 1,100 transport and logistics companies worldwide.
