“We are excited about this partnership and look forward to seeing where this capability can go within the industry to enhance safety and support better training outcomes,” said Captain Jeff Severns, Director of Training at Alaska Airlines.

This technology will deliver valuable insights into pilots’ scanning and monitoring behaviour within the simulated training environment. This data will provide Alaska’s training instructors and pilots with an objective assessment of performance and will support the development of enhanced situational awareness and improved training outcomes.

Alaska Airlines are recognised as a carrier at the leading edge of safety, technology and training innovation. They have pioneered several now common advanced aviation instruments including: integration of GPS and Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System technology, Required Navigation Performance systems and heads-up guidance systems.
